The Wisconsin Senate’s Committee on Agriculture, Small Business and Tourism is holding a public hearing on the bipartisan GOP-sponsored hemp bill SB119 on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 10:02 AM in 411 South at the Capitol.

The committee is chaired by Sen. Terry Moulton (R-Chippewa Falls) and has 9 members, 5 Republicans and 4 Democrats. Seven bill sponsors are on the committee, Senators Testin, Harsdorf, Vinehout, Lena Taylor, Larson, Moulton and Tiffany.

Marijuana Business Daily first reported plans by Wisconsin’s St. Croix Chippewa Tribe to produce CBD-rich hemp plants and distribute cannabidiol on Sept. 27. Cannabadger has obtained a copy of a press release from the tribe announcing their decision to move forward, titled, “American Indian Tribe Adopts Comprehensive Cannabidiol Control Program and Announces Plan to Open Cannabidiol Business in State Where Cannabidiol is Legal.”

MADISON: In a new fiscal estimate from the Wisconsin Dept. of Revenue on Rep. Melissa Sargent's cannabis legalization bill, AB 482, the Wisconsin Dept. of Revenue predicts that if the legislation is enacted into law, both state and local governments will see large revenue increases.

Sept. 11-18, 2017 is the 20th anniversary of the week Wisconsin medical cannabis pioneer Jacki Rickert, joined by 15 medical cannabis patients along with supporters, departed her home in Mondovi to undertake a week long wheelchair Journey for Justice ending at the Wisconsin Capitol in Madison.
