Today in Wisconsin Cannabis History: Page 265: The Rise and Fall of Cannabis Prohibition in Wisconsin: 44th Annual Marijuana Harvest Fest

October 5, 2020 - Saturday-Sunday, October 4-5, 2014: Due to construction on Library Mall, Saturday's event is held at a park on Williamson St. On Sunday, Oct. 5, Madison Mayor Paul Soglin allows the annual Harvest Fest parade up State Street to go forward without a permit. On the State St. steps of the Capitol after the march, Jacki Rickert is presented with an award.

October 3, 2020 - Saturday-Sunday, October 3-4, 2009: Sunday's parade up State St. for the 39th Annual Great Midwest Marijuana Harvest Festival attracts thousands of supporters, led by a half-dozen medical cannabis patients in wheelchairs, on a cold and windy day, as the festival focuses on pending medical cannabis legislation in the state legislature.

September 30, 2020 - The 9th Annual Harvest Fest was held on Sunday, Sept. 30, 1979: According to a vintage promotional flier for the event, it was billed as a "Marijuana Decriminalization Rally," to support decriminalization legislation before the state legislature.
