Yet another hemp event has been scheduled for Wisconsin since the state legalized industrial hemp in Nov. 2017. The 1st Annual Central US Hemp Growers Conference and Expo is set for Feb. 26-27 in downtown Madison at the Monona Terrace Convention Center, two blocks from the Capitol on Lake Monona.

The event features a strong suite of speakers on hemp, CBD and other aspects of the industry, including "comedic investigative journalist, solar-powered goat herder and best selling author" Doug Fine, who last spoke in Madison on Isthmus Green Day on April 20, 2013.

Also speaking is Joy Beckerman, who has been involved in the industrial hemp movement for over a quarter of a century. Joy is the Principal Industrial Hemp Specialist at Hemp Ace International, Vice President of the Hemp Industries Association and sits on the Board of Directors of, the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws (NORML).

Courtney N. Moran, LL.M., founding principal of EARTH Law, LLC, the leading expert in championing legal policy for a sustainable Cannabis hemp industry, will also be speaking. Moran, the 2nd Vice-Chair of NORML's board, testified in favor of Wisconsin's hemp bill at the October 10, 2017, public hearing of the state senate Agriculture Committee.
