Senate Bill 10, Relating to: definition of tetrahydrocannabinols and the use of cannabidiol, has been placed on the Wisconsin Senate calendar for a floor vote on Wed. Feb. 8.

SB10 passed out of the 5-member Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety Feb. 2 on a 4-0 vote with Sen. Duey Stroebel (R-Saukville) excused from the vote. Stroebel was one of a small group of conservative senators who prevailed upon Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald to kill last session’s bill with a procedural move in the final Senate meeting of the 2015-16 session.

Senate Bill 10’s companion bill, Assembly Bill 49, sponsored by Rep. Scott Krug (R-Nekoosa), was recently assigned to the Assembly Committee on Children and Families. The committee website does not yet indicate a hearing date.
